Do you wish to put some of the magic back into Christmas shopping?

For a more relaxed approach, why not visit Dulverton by Starlight?

Throughout December until 12th night Dulverton is transformed into a twinkling delight of white lights and Christmas trees. Soak up the festive atmosphere in this unique Exmoor town, avoid the hustle and bustle and discover that Christmas shopping can still be magical. Dulverton boasts a wealth of independent shops, restaurants and tearooms. If you have not visited before you have missed a treat! Put it in your diary now.

Father Christmas will be listening to those Christmas wishes on Sunday 7th December where you may visit him in his winter workshop from 2pm. Drawn by two Suffolk Punches his carriage certainly turns heads as he rides into town. You too may take a ride with these magnificent beasts throughout the afternoon. For the more intrepid, there is a torch lit walk with an Exmoor Park Ranger. Please wear appropriate footwear and warm clothes. Mince pies and hip flasks are optional but you will need a torch! Enjoy the street entertainment as you stroll from shop to shop. Fancy a warm? Pop into one of the pubs or tearooms for some sumptuous figgy pudding! The Carol singing around the large lit tree in Bank Square is always very popular. Once again we will end the evening with a finale of white fireworks. With the church providing a dramatic backdrop, this is a stunning display. An exhibition of Nativity scenes owned by local families is always a delight and will be on show in the Town Hall during the weekend.

If you are unable to join us on Sunday 7th December Dulverton extends a warm festive welcome throughout December and if you find yourself here when the shops aren’t open you can always entertain the family by hunting for the sugar mice hidden in the windows; you may win a prize.
